Investigation of derailment between Hamar and Løten on the Rørosbanen line
On Tuesday 23 June 2020 at approximately 20:53 hrs train 59050 derailed between Hamar and Løten on the Rørosbanen line.
Before the first wheelset of the locomotive derailed, it passed a bridge and an unprotected level crossing. The locomotive stopped after approximately 280 meters.
The derailment caused the track to move sideways, and damaged fasteners. The line was opened for traffic the next morning.
No one was injured in the accident.
The investigation will clarify the sequence of events and identify possible causal factors. Any underlying conditions that may have contributed to the accident will be mapped and analysed.
