Investigation of serious railway incidents on the national railway network

Description

There have been several incidents recently where lumps of ice have smashed into the sides of trains, causing windows to be broken.

On Wednesday 17 March 2019, several windows on a train were broken as the train was passing through the Finse Tunnel. No passengers were injured.

On Tuesday 26 March 2019, several windows on a train were broken as the train was en route from Flå to Bergheim. Several passengers were injured in this incident.

The investigation will clarify the sequences of events and identify possible causal factors. Any underlying conditions that may have contributed to the incidents will be mapped and analysed.
