Investigation of a collision between a passenger train and a truck

On Wednesday 3 March 2021, passenger train 1119 hits the side mirror of a truck at Bane NOR SF's construction site at Loenga.

The train was on its way from Oslo S in the direction of Ski when it hit the side mirror of a truck. The truck was to empty septic tanks from some barracks that were inside the construction site at Loenga.

The barracks were located so that the truck had to drive near the track. The truck got stuck in the track ballast and came in to the profile of the railway.

The separation between the busy track and the construction area is marked with an orange flexible plastic fence.

No people were injured in the incident. Scratch marks were found on the side of the train.

The investigation will clarify the sequense of events and identify possible causal factors. Any underlying conditions that may have contributed to the derailment will be mapped and analysed.
