Investigation of air accident at Kongsvinger airstrip Gjoelstad, Norway

Description

The owner of the aircraft had bought the aircraft three months earlier. On 21 January 2020 the owner and a flight instructor flew landing circuits. At the last planned landing, they aimed to land northbound at some distance past the treshold. The grass strip is approximately 700 meters long. After the landing, the owner tried to brake, but it did not give any effect. The flight instructor took over the controls and initiated an aborted landing. The aircraft became airborne, but drifted to the left and touched two parked cars before it ended up on a field and after a few meters and flipped over up side down. The flight instructor was fatally injured and the owner got minor injuries. The aircraft was substantially damaged.
