Investigation of aviation accident at Voss Airport, Bømoen, Voss municipality in Vestland county, Norway
On Tuesday 11 May 2021 at 12:29 local time the aircraft slid off the runway at Bømoen, Voss, during landing. The accident happened during the third landing attempt. There were three passengers on board in addition to the commander.
During the first two landing attempts, the commander observed that the altitude that was too high, and aborted. During the third attempt the approach was at a lower altitude, but the speed was too high. The runway treshold was overrun, and the aircraft bounced several times.
The aircraft still had speed at the end of the runway and hit a fence off the end. It turned about 90 degrees as it slid into a road with a ditch. The aircraft sustained significant damage, mainly to the landing gear, propeller, wing leading edges and engine nacelles. There was also a fuel leak.
All on board evacuated without problems. The commander and one passenger sustained only minor injuries.
