Investigation of air accident at Grue community, Hedmark county, Norway
Friday 3 May 2019 the pilot in command partisipated in a Norwegian competition cup out from Elverum airport Starmoen (ENSM). It was a competition in navigation-/soaring flying. The weather conditions were very variable with temporary strong wind- and hail showers. The other competitors aborted their flights. The aircraft navigation unit contains data from the whole flight. The last couple of minutes, the pilot in command circled with LN-GOM at a very low altitude. A witness filmed the last seven seconds of the flight. The video show that control of the aircraft was lost and it flicked and then fell towards the ground from an altitude of approximately 25 meters. The pilot in command was fatally injured and the sailplane was totally destroyed.
